Case 5 History ---- The patient is a 13-year-old girl with two weeks history of hemiparesis, headache, nausea and vomiting. MRI from December 2015 showed a 5.4 cm cystic and solid mass in the left anterior temporal lobe causing mass effect on the left basal ganglia and effacing the left lateral ventricle. There was enhancement of the solid component as well as the rim of the cystic component. The principal radiographic differential diagnostic considerations included but were not limited to ganglioglioma, anaplastic ependymoma, pilocytic astrocytoma, or pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. ---- MRI shows a solid area and surrounding cystic focus (FLAIR image) ---- Operative procedure: Left pterional-based craniotomy for resection of left frontal tumor.
