Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 32 year old male who developed syncope and memory loss in 2010. MRI showed a 4.5 cm left frontal mass. He underwent resection, but there was radiographic recurrence in June 2013 and he underwent reresection once again. MRI from February 2016 showed a large enhancing mass in the anterior inferior portion of the resection cavity and he underwent a third resection which is the specimen presented here. ---- 2A1-3 The neurosurgical specimen shows neuroglial tissue infiltrated to varying degrees by a frankly malignant glioma with widespread microvascular proliferation, pseudopalisading necrosis and vascular thrombosis. There is severe nuclear atypia and mitotic figures are abundant.
