Case 5 History ---- The patient was a 52 year old female with a history of invasive ductal adenocarcinoma of the breast in 2003 and mixed oligoastrocytoma, WHO grade II, status post resection in 1999, with chemo and radiation therapy. The patient presented in 2013 with a new enhancement in the resection cavity. Operative procedure: Bifrontal craniotomy and tumor resection. ---- 5A1-5 This is a high grade glioma with hypercellularity, marked pleomorphism, high mitotic rate, and multifocal endothelial hyperplasia. Tumor cells are markedly pleomorphic. Individual tumor cells have irregular, markedly hyperchromatic nuclei. Mitoses are numerous with atypical forms. Multifocal coagulative necrosis is present. Ectatic blood vessels with hyalinized walls are also present, consistent with radiation change.
