Sections show a diffusely infiltrating glial neoplasm with gemistocytes, fibrillary processes and multiple microcysts. In other areas, the tumor is more hypercellular and the tumor cells show atypical and hyperchromatic nuclei. Multiple mitotic figures are seen (3/10 HPF). Multiple areas of necrosis and multiple hyalinized glomeruloid vessels are also identified.
