1A0 Case 1 History
Case 1 History ---- The patient was a 14-year-old boy who had six months of headaches which progressed to two days of worsened headaches, nausea, vomiting, ataxia and blurry vision prior to admission. He was seen at an outside hospital and determined to have a large posterior fossa cystic lesion. An MRI was performed at SLCH which revealed a 2 x 2 right cerebellar cystic hemisphere mass with a mural nodule and substantial compression of the fourth ventricle. Downward displacement of the cerebellar tonsils resulted in hydrocephalus. The decision was made to take him to the operating room the following day with tumor biopsy and EVD insertion.
