Sections reveal a hypercellular glial neoplasm with mild pleomorphism. The majority of the tumor has a loose microcystic background, although focally, a more compact arrangement is also seen. The majority of tumor cells contain oval bland nuclei with long thin "piloid" cytoplasmic processes.
