The ventral aspect of the brain shows pontine expansion with a nodular surface covering the basilar artery. The right cerebellar hemisphere is enlarged grossly. ---- Not shown: On coronal section of the brain, there was severe hydrocephalus which involves the lateral and the third ventricles. The aqueduct and the fourth ventricles are uninvolved with this hydrocephalus. In the medulla, the right inferior olive, as well as the right restiform body appeared to be involved.
