Case 10 History ---- The patient is a 21 year old woman with low back and leg pain. MRI showed an enhancing intradural mass below the conus, displacing it to the left, and intimately involving the cauda equina. There is no evidence of bony erosion or remodeling within the lumbar spinal canal. Operative procedure: Lumbar laminectomies for excisional biopsy of intradural extramedullary lesion. ---- 10A1,2 A classic boxcar appearance of this sagittal T1-weighted contrast administered image is also shown in axial section surrounded by the roots of the cauda equina (arrows, 10A2).
