Hematoxylin and eosin stained sections of the intradural mass show a well circumscribed tumor with a prominent myxoid background. ---- Immunohistochemistry (not shown) demonstrates tumor cells to have patchy, weak positivity for pan-cytokeratin (AE1/AE3) and focal dot-like paranuclear staining for epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) but were unstained with D2-40. MIB-1 shows a low proliferation index in general.
