11A1 Gliosarcoma-PNET-Adenoid var (Case 11) H&E 7
Case 11 History ---- The patient was a 65 year old man who underwent surgery for a left parietal mass roughly 6 months prior. The patient was subsequently treated and underwent repeat surgery for evidence of tumor recurrence. ---- Sections of the initial biopsy revealed a relatively solid-appearing neoplasm with variable morphologic appearances. In some areas, the tumor resembles a glioblastoma, containing fibrillary and gemistocytic astrocytes with a variably myxoid stromal background, mitotic activity, foci of microvascular proliferation, and necrosis. In other sites it has an adenoid pattern. 11A1-4 Glandular cribriform growth is seen at progressively increasing magnification.
