13B1-4 Sections of the left frontotemporoparietal lobe lesion show a high grade neoplasm with several discrete histological patterns. There is a pattern of neoplastic astrocytes with bipolar, gemistocytic or stellate morphology and hyperchromatic atypical nuclei, occasional mitotic figures, microvascular proliferation, entrapped neurons, and areas of bland (coagulative) necrosis.
