Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (GLIAL) | Glioblastoma, adenoid pattern | 15B1 GBM, adenoid type (Case 15) area B H&E 5 copy.jpg
The tumor has several patterns, shown together in this first H&E image. The adenoid pattern (arrowheads) is adjacent to a more classical glioblastoma (arrow) appearance consisting of diffusely infiltrating cells with increased eosinophilic cytoplasm, larger, atypical nuclei, scattered multinucleated and gemistocytic forms growing in a patternless pattern, and endothelial proliferation, features more consistent with conventional glioblastoma.
