Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (GLIAL) | Glioblastoma, adenoid pattern | 15B2 GBM, adenoid type (Case 15) H&E 14.jpg
15B2-4 The majority of the tumor is composed of small, cuboidal, cohesive cells with high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, hyperchromatism, and nuclear molding, growing in small cords and nests within a mucoid matrix and in a perivascular "tumor survival" sparing pattern, features of adenoid morphology. Areas of adenoid morphology in particular show frequent mitotic activity and numerous apoptotic cells. Endothelial proliferation and necrosis are also identified in these areas. (H&E)
