15B3 GBM, adenoid type (Case 15) H&E 9.jpg
The majority of the tumor is composed of small, cuboidal, cohesive cells with high nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, hyperchromatism, and nuclear molding, growing in small cords and nests within a mucoid matrix and in a perivascular "tumor survival" sparing pattern, features of adenoid morphology. Areas of adenoid morphology in particular show frequent mitotic activity and numerous apoptotic cells. Endothelial proliferation and necrosis are also identified in these areas. (H&E)
