Case 16 History ---- The patient was 87 years old with a left parietal lobe GBM. This case was one of the five initial cases published by Kepes, Fulling and Garcia (1982) “The clinical significance of "adenoid" formations of neoplastic astrocytes, imitating metastatic carcinoma, in gliosarcomas. A review of five cases.” Clin Neuropathol. 1(4):139-50. ---- 16A1 A low magnification image shows an unusual pattern which, following a correct intraoperative diagnosis, worried the pathologist that it represented a metastasis but its true nature was demonstrated by GFAP immunoreactivity.
