GFAP immunohistochemistry were compelling for the origin of the tumor from a primary glial neoplasm in the brain. (GFAP IHC) ---- Additional immunohistochemistry (not shown): S-100 protein and vimentin were strongly immunoreactive in tumor cells. Many tumor cells also showed a faintly positive cytoplasmic blush for epithelial membrane antigen (EMA IHC).
