Case 2 History ---- The patient was a 75 year old man with a deep right parietal lobe complex enhancing mass with adjacent hematoma. Operative procedure: Excision. ---- Sections revealed a relatively solid and focally infiltrative neoplasm with extensive hemorrhage and necrosis; in other areas, tumor cells contained eosinophilic cytoplasm resembling gemistocytes. There was moderate nuclear pleomorphism, with most cells containing oval to elongate nuclei and small nucleoli. ---- 2A1,2 In some areas, the tumor cells have an epithelioid appearance with large rounded to polygonal cells containing sharp intercellular borders and clear cytoplasm.
