4A1 GBM, giant cell type (Case 4) H&E 4.jpg
Case 4 History ---- The patient was a 31 year old man who presented with headaches and lightheadedness for two weeks. MRI showed a rim enhancing, multicystic lesion in the right temporal lobe. Operative procedure: Right temporal craniotomy for tumor resection. ---- 4A1-3 Sections show a highly pleomorphic neoplasm with numerous bizarre giant cells, a small glial population and markedly atypical mitoses. Many areas of geographic necrosis are noted as well as examples of glomeruloid vascular proliferation.
