Case 2 History ---- The patient is a 17 year old boy with a history of speech disturbance. He has a left parieto-temporal, periventricular enhancing lesion. Operative procedure: Craniotomy. ---- 2A1,2 Sections of the left parietal/temporal biopsy show a hypercellular neoplasm composed of large cells with granular cytoplasm, with small to moderate sized nuclei admixed with smaller cells with oval to elongated, hyperchromatic nuclei and scant fibrillary cytoplasm. The mitotic rate is high and there is focal necrosis.
