Staining for synaptophysin shows patchy immunoreactivity within some of the tumor cells. ---- Ancillary studies (not shown): Neurofilament staining highlights axonal processes and shows the tumor to be mostly solid within the primitive areas. ---- FISH analysis showed chromosome 10q deletion.
