FISH demonstrates tumor cells are positive for EGFR amplification and are negative for 1p/19q co-deletion. ---- Ancillary studies (not shown): A large subset of the tumor cells show positive nuclear immunoreactivity for p53. The tumor is negative for Isocitrate Dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) mutant R132H. Methylation of the MGMT (O(6)-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase) gene was detected using methylation specific PCR technologies.
