Case 22 History ---- The patient is a 73-year-old man who presents with a staring episode followed by decreased responsiveness and jerking of his extremities. MR imaging performed shows a cystic, expansile mass in the right anterior temporal lobe extending superiorly into the insular cortex and subinsular white matter. Operative procedure: Right temporal craniotomy, tumor excision. ---- A whole mount of the surgical specimen shows a solid pattern of growth at low magnification.
