14A0 Case 14 History
Case 14 History ---- This man was 89 years old when he was seen at his only Memory and Aging Project visit and was rated as clinical dementia rating (CDR 3, severe dementia. In the last 6 months of his life, this man had symptoms related to what apparently was a rapidly progressive brain tumor, probably a glioblastoma or metastasis, primary unknown. A CT scan done in 7/95 showed hypodensity in the white matter of the left temporal lobe with mass effect. No further intervention beyond comfort care was applied. At autopsy it was determined that the severe dementia was the result of the glioblastoma as well as Alzheimer Disease Neuropathologic Change.
