Case 22 History ---- This was a 69 year old man with a history of complete heart block treated with a permanent pacemaker placed prior 3 weeks prior to his death. His daughter was alarmed by his subsequent behavior. He reported that his head felt “out of control” and had major problems word finding, as well as right arm and leg motor function. A CT on 9/1/2003 was positive for a brain tumor and edema. He was admitted to an OSH for evaluation and anticipated neurosurgery following a course of Decadron. His speech improved and he was scheduled for a craniotomy. Post operative recovery was going well until 9/19/03 when he experienced 2 seizures and never regained consciousness. By 7pm of that day, he was in full arrest and died.
