Case 25 History Glioblastoma ---- The patient was a 62 year old female who was operated on for a left frontal glioblastoma in December of 1977 and died 5 months later. She had been doing reasonably well up until l week prior to admission during which time she had had increasing lethargy, decreasing mental awareness, was diaphoretic with nausea and vomiting. The patient had been seen 2 or 3 weeks prior to admission with increased papilledema and thought to have recurrence of tumor. During the next 12 hours the patient showed marked deterioration and was noted to have irregular respirations, fixed dilated pupils, and absent Doll's eyes and corneal reflexes. She eventually stopped breathing and was pronounced dead.
