26A1-3 The cortical mantle is remarkable for flattening and obliteration of gyri in the left parietal lobe. The dura is bound to the underlying cortex at this point. The unci are grooved bilaterally, most strikingly on the left. Coronal sections through the cerebral hemispheres show a 5 x 5 x 6 pale mass involving the left frontal and parietal lobes extending from the level of the anterior commissure, posteriorly to the splenium of the corpus callosum. The tumor has a variegated appearance with nodules of granular white material admixed with areas of cystic change, hemorrhage, and necrosis.
