27A1-4 At autopsy the weight of the unfixed brain was 1380g. The sulcal-gyral pattern displays generalized brain edema. The left uncus is prominent, indicative of uncal herniation. Coronal sections of the cerebral hemispheres show expansion of the white matter with left > right side, and in several foci there is loss of the grey/white junction. The expansion of the white matter is predominant in the left frontal and parietal regions. Other prominent findings include a markedly thickened corpus callosum and the septum pellucidum.
