28A1-3 ---- Coronal sections of the brain display the presence of a necrotic space occupying lesion extending from the tip of the left frontal pole posteriorly to the level of the mammillary bodies. The tumor extends into the right hemisphere for a short distance in the region of the genu of the corpus callosum and the anterior horn of the right lateral ventricle. The tumor infiltrates and totally replaces the corpus striatum anterior to the anterior commissure. The tumor itself has a variegated appearance with alternating areas of yellowish tissue with reddish areas of hemorrhage.
