The neoplasm is gelatinous grey and nodular with numerous areas of punctate necrosis and hemorrhage.. Cross sections through the brainstem show a large mass of similar neoplasm occupying the most distal aspects of the cerebral aqueduct and rostral 4th ventricle. This midline lesion prompted a workup for Diffuse Midline Glioma, H3K27M-altered.
