The histopathologic appearance of the great majority of the white matter in this case consists of elliptical cells, with delicate bland chromatin, lacking halos and mitoses, with no evidence of microvascular proliferation or necrosis. The bulk of the tumor was called a grade II astrocytoma. (H&E)
