The histologic impression is of a relatively hypocellular diffusely infiltrating process composed of elliptical cells with bland chromatin, most consistent with glioma, accompanied by reactive astrocytes. A single mitosis is identified in a very small specimen (arrow). There is no evidence of marked hypercellularity, cytologic atypia, endothelial hyperplasia or necrosis. (H&E)
