A modest Ki67 immunoreactivity is supportive of increased proliferative activity. ---- The histological and immunohistochemical findings in this case are subtle. The presence of mildly increased cellularity, cytologic atypia and a rare mitosis are most consistent with a diffuse astrocytoma. Polysomy of chromosome 7 is also consistent with this diagnosis. In the clinical and radiological context of a large, diffuse lesion infiltrating right temporal, parietal and occipital lobes, and crossing the corpus callosum to involve the contralateral brain, the biopsy findings are most suggestive of gliomatosis cerebri (WHO grade III).
