Numerous atypical cells were characterized by elliptical nuclear enlargement, mild atypia, and limited discernible cytoplasm. Mitotic figures were evident, however, there was no evidence of either microvascular proliferation or necrosis. Strong GFAP and scattered p53 immunoreactivity were identified. A Ki-67 stain revealed an increased labeling index, estimated at 25%.
