16B2 Gliosarcoma (Case 16) H&E J1
In areas the neoplastic cells show prominent spindling and form fascicles. In these areas the cells have elongated nuclei, tapered cytoplasmic processes, and indistinct cell-cell borders. These areas merge and blend into sheets of highly pleomorphic cells with highly-irregularly shaped and hyperchromatic nuclei. Many cells show prominent nucleoli and giant cell forms are also present. Mitotic figures and cells with karyorrhectic debris are numerous. There is endothelial hyperplasia and both pseudo-palisading and sheet-like geographic necrosis is present.
