Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (GLIAL) | Oligodendroglioma - IDH1 mutant, del 1p19q - Grade 2 | 11C Oligodendroglioma, WHO II (Case 11) H&E 1.jpg
This is a diffusely classical infiltrative oligodendroglia neoplasm (round cells, crisp nuclear contours, perinuclear "halos," delicate chicken wire vessels, and peri-neuronal as well as perivascular satellitosis. Necrosis is not present. Significant mitotic activity is not seen. ---- Not shown: An immunostain for the mutant IDH-1 protein (p.R123H) is positive. A Ki-67 immunostain demonstrates an index of proliferation of 2.6%. A p53 stain shows rare, scattered nuclear reactivity. FISH studies show co-deletion of 1p and 19q.
