Case 18 History ---- The patient is a 60-year-old man with a history of an oligodendroglioma, WHO grade 2, focally increased mitotic index, resected in 2003 and seen in consultation at Washington University in 2007. Per report, the original tumor showed co-deletion of chromosomes 1p and 19q by FISH. In April 2007, the patient began having complaints of numbness spreading from the right side of his face to the right foot. The patient was then treated with high-dose Temodar from May 2007 until June 2008. MR imaging was performed every six months until December 2012. An MR in December 2012 was stable. An follow-up MR scan performed at an outside hospital in June 2 2014, showed a contrast-enhancing mass in the left temporal lobe involving the insula, which is partially cystic, measuring in total 4.8 x 9.2 cm. This mass has increased substantially in size since the previous study in December 2012. Operative procedure: Left temporal craniotomy, tumor resection.
