19A Oligodendroglioma, drop met extramural spinal (Case 19) T2 - Copy
Case 19 History ---- The patient is a 37 year old man with a previous history of an oligodendroglioma (WHO Grade II) diagnosed at the Barrow Institute in Arizona. He subsequently moved to Iowa where MRI surveillance was apparently negative for recurrence. He has had chronic headache over the last several months and complained of low back pain. On a trip from Nashville to Iowa he experienced a staring episode and was unable to speak and as well had tonic posturing. He was brought to the BJH Emergency Room where imaging demonstrated tumor within the vertebral column. Intraoperatively it was felt that the tumor was intradural but not intramedullary. Operative procedure: Biopsy. ---- 19A Spinal T2-weighted MRI showed an extensive intraspinal enhancing soft tissue mass causing canal stenosis and extends from T1 to T12
