Ki-67 proliferation index is increased, estimated up to ~20-25% in the anaplastic area. ---- Not shown: Tumor cell ATRX nuclear expression is retained. p53 is immunoreactive in few scattered tumor cells, consistent with a wildtype staining pattern. ---- FISH studies are positive for 1p/19q co-deletions. ---- Comment: The collective features are consistent with a recurrent/residual oligodendroglioma, harboring focal areas of anaplasia, WHO grade 3. In addition, focal radiation necrosis is also apparent.
