Case 27 History ---- The patient is a 35-year-old woman with a new onset generalized tonic-clonic seizure. Brain MRI showed a right frontal lobe 9 x 3 cm T2 hyperintense lesion without significant enhancement and with surrounding vasogenic edema. Operative procedure: Right frontal craniotomy, Stealth frameless stereotaxy, microsurgical dissection, resection of mass. ---- 27A H&E stained sections show multiple fragments of a diffuse glioma with an oligodendroglial morphology, featuring monomorphic tumor cells with round to ovoid nuclei, coarse chromatin, perinuclear halos, and indistinct cytoplasmic processes. Perineuronal satellitosis and microcystic areas are seen. Mitotic activity is elevated, with 17 mitoses/10HPF. Microvascular proliferation and necrosis are not evident.
