Monotonous malignant tumor cells display subpial condensation, perivascular and perineuronal satelliting. Mitotic activity is easy to identify and up to 4-9 mitoses/10HPF. Increased mitotic activity is sufficient for the diagnosis of anaplastic oligodendroglioma, WHO grade 3.
