Case 9 History ---- The patient is a 30-year-old man with a history of previous resection of an oligodendroglioma, WHO Grade II with 1p/19q deletion and IDH mutant (R132H). Operative procedure: Left craniotomy for resection of brain tumor with intraoperative MRI scan. ---- 9A1,2 The intraoperative smear in this case shows proliferative vessels. Sections of the resected tumor show an infiltrative oligodendroglial neoplasm with necrosis and prominent multifocal microvascular proliferation. The majority of the tumor has classical features of an oligodendroglioma with perinuclear clearing, perineuronal satellites. Other areas of the tumor are more densely cellular, more pleomorphism and sheeting with up to 12 mitoses/10HPF.
