Case 13 History ---- The patient is a 39 year old man with a large cystic lesion in the frontal lobe. ---- 13A1-6 There are several aspects of this highly pleomorphic tumor including its presentation as a nodule within a cyst which is characteristic (but not pathognomonic) of pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. However, this tumor clearly demonstrates several unusual features which are atypical for a WHO Grade 2 PXA including the presence of significant mitotic activity, scattered atypical mitoses, palisading necrosis and endothelial proliferation
