20A3 PXA (Case 20) H&E 10X 3 copy
20A3-6 The tumor consists of a proliferation of markedly pleomorphic cells. Many of the cells are huge, with abundant granular or less often, foamy eosinophilic cytoplasm and irregular, basophilic, frequently multiple nuclei. The granules are PAS positive and at least partially diastase resistant. Other tumor cells are smaller and more spindled and in some areas are forming fascicles. Mitotic figures are infrequent, and there is no endothelial proliferation. Many of the vessels are cuffed by small mature lymphocytes. 20A3 There is extensive involvement of the leptomeninges by tumor and extension of tumor down Virchow-Robin space (arrow).
