Washington University Experience | NEOPLASMS (GLIAL) | Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) | 2E Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma (Case 2) Ki67 2
Ki-67 proliferation index, overall, appears to be elevated and focally reaches up to 15.6% although some of it may be contributed by scattered chronic inflammatory cells. ---- Ancillary data (not shown): CD34 highlights the blood vessels but is negative in tumor cells. The tumor is negative for MGMT gene methylation as well as BRAF V600E mutation. ---- Comment: The overall findings are consistent with "pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) with anaplastic features" due to necrosis and elevated mitotic count (~9/10HPF)
