The cells have round to elongated, large, pleomorphic, hyperchromatic nuclei with abundant foamy fibrillary, eosinophilic cytoplasm arranged as fascicles and infiltrating the adjacent cortex. Eosinophilic granular bodies are present and there is focal perivascular lymphocytic cuffing.
