5G PXA (Case 5) Ki67 20X
5G A modest number of small neoplastic (and possible inflammatory) cells.---- Ancillary data (not shown): An immunostain for neurofilament protein shows a paucity of axons within the lesion, suggesting that the lesion has "pushing" rather than infiltrative borders. CD34 immunostain highlights focal spindled cells, endothelial cells (internal positive staining), but no pleomorphic cells. ---- This is a pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA, WHO grade 2).
