2B1-5 Images show a low grade neoplasm composed of phenotypically variable tumor cells. The neoplastic cells are spindled to epithelioid or gemistocyte-like (often mimicking neuronal/ganglion-like cells) and contain moderate to abundant eosinophilic cytoplasm with vesicular nuclei showing focal prominence of nucleoli. There is mild to moderate pleomorphism within the tumor cells; however, mitoses are difficult to find and necrosis is not evident. The tumor has a capillary rich vasculature and shows patchy chronic inflammatory cell infiltrate.
