Case 9 History ---- The patient was a one year old boy with a history of tuberous sclerosis and multiple non-enhancing nodules within bilateral lateral ventricles and an enhancing lesion within the frontal horn of the left ventricle. Operative procedure: Craniotomy for tumor resection. ---- 9A1,2 The tumor is a low grade glial neoplasm with extensive calcification. The microscopic appearance is characterized by medium to large sized, stellate or epithelioid cells with oval to elongated hyperchromatic nuclei and eosinophilic cytoplasmic processes. Mitoses are rare.
