11A1 Subependymoma (Case 11) H&E whole mount
Case 11 History ---- This patient was a 68 year old right handed man with hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, and various other conditions who was found unconscious in an extended care facility. Head CT showed a left thalamic intracranial hemorrhage extending into the left cerebral peduncle. However, he deteriorated the next day and his family decided to withdraw care. The medulla was unremarkable, however the adjacent ventricle shows an intraventricular mass consistent with an subependymoma. ---- 11A1,2 A miniscule fourth ventricular subependymoma with a islands of tumor cells is separated by hypocellular collections of processes (H&E)
