Case 12 History ---- The patient was a 40 year old woman with a history of uncoordinated gait and falling. MRI of the brain showed a 1.2 x 1.1cm T2 hyperintense mass in the dorsal medulla with extension into the fourth ventricle. The differential diagnosis was exophytic brainstem glioma, ependymoma, or subependymoma. Operative procedure: posterior fossa craniotomy with resection of tumor. ---- 12A1,2 MRI examination showed a small mass within the fourth ventricle visible in TIRM (12A1) and T2-weighted (12A2) images.
